Use your imagination and apply paradiddles to the drum set. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Paradiddle fill 1 - Play regular paradiddles on the snare but play the downbeat on a tom or cymbal. The downbeat is the first
R in RLRR and the first L in LRLL.
Paradiddle fill 2 - Play one drum or cymbal with the
Paradiddle groove - Play paradiddles between your snare and bass foot while playing eighths on the hi-hat. This is a very funky
beat.
Jazz Hi-Hat groove 1 - Play a jazz hi-hat with the right hand and add paradiddles with the left hand under the hi-hat.
Rock Paradiddle Inversion fills - Learn to play various paradiddle inversions as fills while moving around the drums.
